Position Overview The Cybersecurity Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing an organization's cybersecurity strategy, policies, and practices to protect digital assets, systems, and networks from cyber threats and attacks.
This role involves managing a team of cybersecurity professionals, implementing security measures, and collaborating with various departments to ensure a strong and effective cybersecurity posture.
This position is contingent upon successful contract award.
Responsibilities / Duties Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement cybersecurity solutions, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), access controls, and encryption mechanisms.
Develop and execute a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with the organization's business objectives and risk tolerance.
Identify emerging cyber threats and trends and proactively adjust strategies to address evolving challenges.
Assign tasks, set performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide guidance to ensure team members' growth and effectiveness.
Establish and communicate cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Monitor policy adherence across the organization and address non-compliance issues.
Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and potential impacts on critical assets.
Implement risk mitigation strategies and oversee the monitoring of risk reduction efforts.
Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience (usually 3-5 years) as a Cybersecurity Manager or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
Familiarity with network protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools.
Detail-oriented approach to security assessments, risk analysis, and incident response.
Strong understanding of security compliance frameworks and regulations.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge DoD Secret level Clearance or the ability to obtain one Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.
g.
, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CEH) are advantageous.
Security + CE or higher-level Security Certification.
Physical Demands Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds occasionally and walk short distances.
Repetitive motion.
Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing: viewing a computer monitor; extensive reading.
Stand for long periods of time.
Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds without assistance.
