Maintenance Manager
Summary of Position
This position provides leadership, technical support, and business perspective for the maintenance group.
The position is responsible for, but not limited to, the overall management of the maintenance execution and budget activities.
The position coordinates the activities of the company’s maintenance employees, while providing direction and mentorship to all direct reports in the implementation of Industry Best Practices, conflict resolution, teamwork and self-directed work teams.
The position manages the development of work scopes for routine and associated program maintenance while providing direct oversight of execution and coordination with the Planning team.
Requirements
Education
High School Diploma required
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar field strongly preferred
Experience
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in terminal, refining, or petrochemical plant maintenance
At least 5 years of supervisory experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Thorough working knowledge of marine terminal equipment, sound industry proven maintenance practices, and reliability centered concepts
Superior leadership and management skills with a proven ability to coordinate employees, teams, and departments with different skills and backgrounds
Thorough understanding of OSHA, EPA & Coast Guard regulations as they pertain to terminal operations and maintenance
Knowledge and ability to ensure that safety, environmental, budgetary, and strategic objectives, policies and procedures are followed
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and manage a significant operating budget including the capacity to control labor, materials and equipment expenses
Ability to interact with departmental and interdepartmental staff at all levels
Ability to manage a workforce consisting of non-exempt and exempt personnel
Demonstrated computer skills in Excel, Word, Outlook and computerized maintenance management systems such as CMMS
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
Applicable Additional Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Ability to obtain, or currently possess, a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Ability and willingness to work extended hours, nights, rotating shifts, and holidays when required
Physical Requirements
Ability to wear applicable personal protective equipment to prevent against exposure to dust, fumes, or chemicals and loud noises
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, repeatedly climb shore tank ladders, stairs & vessel gangways, push and pull items, reach overhead, stoop and squat and maneuver through obstacles & hazards present on vessels and in terminals
