Description of the Position
Responsible for ensuring smooth execution, high performance and cost efficiency of local logistics, material management and warehousing processes.
To functionally and disciplinarily, lead the local materials team assigned, supervise, and monitor their tasks.
Essential Responsibilities Functionally and disciplinary leads the store person, store coordinators, the material coordinators and the MvO’s.
Manages all local logistics processes such as all warehouse related activities (receiving, inspection, issuing, picking, quarantine handling, shipping, storage of goods, etc.
), internal/local transportation and aircraft customs clearance.
Take an active role in the implementation of solutions for process improvements within the department.
Continuous tracking of quality and internal audit processes.
Ensure continuous training and further skills development of on-site logistics personnel.
Conducts annual performance evaluation of the personnel.
Produce duty roasters (shift plans) in accordance with requirements of running maintenance workload (e.
g.
, organize adequate coverage for key project milestones) and ensure strict following of the rosters.
Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Ensure a high level of housekeeping of the Store area.
Determine proper methods for storage, identification, and stock location.
Manage cycle counts.
Performing any technical task that he/she is appointed by his / her superior.
Actively taking part in improvement projects (e.
g.
, workshops on ideas sharing for efficiency increase / development of best-in-class performance measures / better capacity steering and transition to more flexible working hours) Continuous optimization of own and subordinate’s tasks Participates in internal and/or external meetings, negotiations, committees, teams, and others, as assigned.
Participates in internal as well as external audits (government, company, FAA, customer, etc.
), as needed.
Efficiency and performance of his/her team through indicators such as: On time fulfilment of requests (on-time physical delivery of material requests issued from store to production lines) On-time return bookings Store men productivity (Number of handled goods per store person per day/shift) Utilization of employees / overtime costs / sickness quota Number of quality/finance audit findings Stock counting results Housekeeping Other Responsibilities Maintains working area clean and organized.
Comply and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, local and federal regulations.
Perform other tasks and projects, as requested.
Ensure adherence to compliance culture requirements.
Education, Skills and Competencies Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, logistics or engineering or relevant experience in logistics Minimum 5 years’ experience in materials Has worked as team leader for minimum of 3 years.
Good knowledge of other logistics processes (transport, planning & purchasing) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong leadership and negotiation skills Team spirit, sense of responsibility and very good interpersonal skills Computer literate, preferably SAP knowledge Flexibility according to workload during the project phases Ability to generate new ideas and identify potential for improvement within his/her working area.
Experience in process design and training Knowledge in OSHA regulations and labor laws Fluent in English and Spanish Valid driver’s license Working conditions Office and warehouse environment.
