Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Operations Manager position coordinates the production activities of workers responsible for the selection and loading of products and preparing them for same-day delivery.
This position is accountable for clear, timely communications and paperwork during the “full cycle” of the operations process (from purchase order generation to product return).
The Operations Manager is responsible for all inventories conducted at Island Saints OPCO.
This includes inventory counts, issues, and research.
QUANTIFIABLE POSITION OBLECTIVES:
The following quantifiable objectives will be used to measure the performance of the Operations Manager:
• Achieves the company's desired safety standards.
• Manages operations within budget.
• Achieves targeted KOI levels – warehouse case per man hour, delivery cost per case, inventory shrinkage, vehicle cost per case, etc.
• Ensures the department is fully staffed per the budget.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Provides strong leadership and management in all processes related to warehousing and distribution for Island Saints.
• Drives operations P&L results and operates within cost controls while leading special projects to improve business practices and bottom line.
• Provides strategic management related to the development of departmental operations, systems, metrics, and personnel.
• Leads managers, supervisors, and staff to ensure that operations are carried out with a high level of productivity while meeting established standards of quality and on-time delivery.
• Ensures warehouse facilities are operational at all times in order to receive loads and maintain proper inventory levels.
• Maintains sanitation standards, safety, and quality standards.
• Manages fleet and building maintenance.
• Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors, and evaluates the performance of warehouse and receiving associates; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations in Dry, Chill, Freezer, and Overstock areas.
• Oversees all inventory operations in all temperature zones: counts, issues, and research, and conducts cycle inventory counts to verify inventory accuracy.
• Perform all other duties as required by General Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
• At least 5 years of management experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Computer applications using MS Office and Excel.
• Computer applications experience using warehouse operating system desired.
• Working knowledge of warehouse / mechanical equipment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, and FDA regulations and the willingness to become certified in one or more of these areas as necessary.
• Excellent supervisory skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
