One year of professional experience as a librarian is required.
Recruitment Notes The incumbent in this position will function as the assistant manager for the Library Department’s Mobile Services Unit, which includes Bookmobiles and Technobus.
This position may be required to function as the manager-in-charge in the absence of the Librarian 3/Bookmobile Manager.
The incumbent in this position will be tasked with supervising the daily operations of individual bookmobile routes for the Library Department’s Mobile Services Unit to include monitoring the successful completion of the unit’s routes for regular outreach stops and special events.
This position will be responsible for regularly scheduled monitoring and assessment of the routes, including riding along in the Bookmobile or Technobus to the locations assigned to the unit for roughly 60% of the workweek.
The incumbent in this position will be responsible for developing programs for various audiences as well as assisting with collection development.
In addition, this position entails statistical collection and reporting, submitting incident reports, completing performance evaluations, generating work orders, staffing service desks, and serving on systemwide committees.
The incumbent in this position will be responsible for supervising Library Assistants and other paraprofessional staff.
At times, the incumbent in this position may be required to operate a cargo van or 24’ Sprinter Bookmobile to service routes and make deliveries.
This position may be required to work mornings, evenings, and/or weekends - subject to community requests for Mobile Services.
